COVID-19 Update from the Mayor (04/24/20)

The City plans to keep citizens informed of new developments surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Citizens are being encouraged to follow the City website and Facebook page for daily updates.

To: The Residents of the City of Cameron

I have been in contact with the Governor’s Office and am receiving updates from the State and Clinton County Health Departments regarding our continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The State has indicated they will be issuing a new Order or guidance with reduced restrictions on May 3rd.  They have also indicated that these new Orders will continue to include a reduction in building capacity for essential businesses as they included in the prior Order.  As the details of the new Orders are released, we will review the Orders in place for the City of Cameron and adjust as necessary.

Please be aware that even as we begin to move toward relaxing the restrictions that have been put into place, the illness is not going away.  Medical professionals will be responding to COVID-19 cases for the foreseeable future.  With that in mind, please continue to be conscientious about those in our community who are at greater risk for harm because of exposure to this virus and continue to practice strict social distancing guidelines in your daily routine.

Don’t forget, City Hall and the Police Department lobbies remain closed but the drive-thru window at City Hall is open for business during normal business hours. The Police Department can be contacted through their non-emergency number at 816-632-6521 or 9-1-1 for emergencies.  For after-hour utility emergencies, please contact the Water Plant at 816-632-2844.
