Western Themed “Round Up” Fun for the Family
Over 240 people showed up Sunday, September 9, for the 15th Annual Round Up Sunday put on by River of Life Baptist Church. “Easter and Round Up Sunday’s are our biggest turnouts every year” acknowledged Pastor Dave nodding toward the line of guests wrapped around the building as they made their way through the food tables. “I remember having Round-Up Sunday when I was a kid,” Pastor Otis recalled fondly, “always looked forward to it.”
The father and son team co-pastor at River of Life and family was certainly the central focus of the event. Pastor Otis and Pastor Dave both acknowledged having a great team and being a part of the Heartland Baptist Association made the event possible. Volunteers and staff manned the various activities that dappled the church lawn and lot. The bounce house, stilt walking, pony rides, and sack races were crowd favorites. There was something for every age group including: a bit of roping practice, milk bottle toss, face paining, and even a balloon “pig penning” for the little ones. “It’s about connecting as a family, being around friends, and having activities everybody can enjoy,” Pastor Dave emphasized. River of Life Baptist Church is located at 811 S Walnut St.
