Lady Dragons aim to keep CHS tournament title at home

The Cameron Lady Dragons showed no ring-rust despite being eight days removed from their last competition after easily downing Lawson 49-40 to kick off the Cameron High School Basketball Tournament.

A 3-pointer by senior guard Kaitlyn Smith, a pair of jumpers by sophomore Avery McVicker kicked off a strong night for the Lady Dragons, who built a 9-point cushion early in the second quarter.

“We came out pretty strong. We were pumped up and ready to go,” said Smith, who looks to capture her first Cameron tournament title.
