A Cfl Team Cuts a First-round Nfl Quarterback| Latest News!

The last time we saw Paxton Lynch, a former first-round draught pick, was when he was in the NFL draught pool in 2013.

It’s possible that’s because he’s been spending most of his time up north in the CFL – at least until today.

According to Greg Auman, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers source, Lynch was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League today.

This comes just over six months after he inked a contract with the organization. During the 2021 season, he did not appear in a single down for them.

Auman, on the other hand, pointed out that the cut came just one day before the USFL draught, which is set to take place Tuesday.

It’s plausible that Lynch requested his release in expectation of being picked up by the upstart spring football league, which would explain his behavior.

In light of his little playing time in the CFL, Lynch’s prospects of receiving a showcase for a possible return to the NFL are likely to be stronger in the USFL.

Additionally, he may be acquainted with some of the coaches in the budding league.

Paxton Lynch was a three-year starter for the Memphis Tigers between 2013 and 2015, helping the team to a 10-3 record and a No. 25 ranking in the final regular-season rankings in 2014.

His size and arm strength were deemed to be ideal for the NFL by many scouts, and he decided to leave Memphis before his senior year to enter the draught.
The Denver Broncos were coming off a Super Bowl victory and were looking for a quarterback to build their team around. Consequently, they traded up to draught Lynch 26th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Lynch, on the other hand, only appeared in five games over the course of two NFL seasons and struggled to make progress.

He was released prior to the 2018 season and has not appeared in a single game since.

Will Paxton Lynch seek to make a comeback in the NFL this season?
