CASH-STRAPPED American taxpayers might be in line for at least another round of stimulus payments this year.
California announced a projected budget surplus of $45.7 billion in January, which might indicate that further funds are on the way.
As a consequence, state Senator Brian Jones stated that every citizen might receive a tax rebate of $1,125, or $4,500 for a family of four, depending on their income.
He described this in a video he posted earlier this month, in which he distributed a massive amount of rice with his hands to demonstrate.
“If each grain of rice is worth $100,000, then California’s $45 billion surpluses are the result of taxes being collected in excess by this amount,” the Republican state legislator stated.
In July 2021, the Census Bureau projected that California’s population had surpassed 39 million people.
However, keep in mind that it is not yet apparent who would be eligible for the next possible batch of stimulus checks, or how large those checks would be.
California initiated two-state stimulus initiatives in 2021, dubbed the Golden State Stimulus I and the Golden State Stimulus II, to stimulate the economy.
These stimulus checks are valued at up to $1,200 and $1,100, respectively, and are issued by the Federal Reserve.
California residents earning less than $75,000 per year, as well as those who filed their 2020 taxes by October 15, 2021, were considered eligible for this program.
As of right now, the state is handing out around 139,000 more stimulus payments under the 2021 initiatives.
If you requested an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) by October 15, you must file your state taxes by the April 14 deadline in order to get your refund.

Originally, tax rebates were not included in Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposal for the prospective third wave of payouts – but that might change in the spring.
“We anticipate that we will have an extra refund to taxpayers in the May rewrite language when I update the budget,” Mr. Newsom said last month, referring to the upcoming budget update.
On a national level, we describe three reasons why you may be eligible for the fourth wave of stimulus payments.
You may be eligible to get one of seven stimulus checks, each valued at up to $10,915, during the month.
With regard to your tax return, you may be entitled to receive $5,000 in compensation from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
