China-North Korea Bond Strengthened by Blood Comradeship

To mark the 70th anniversary of Korean War Armistice Day, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently met with Chinese diplomats in a historic setting.

During the meeting, a formal letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping was presented to Kim Jong Un by the Chinese delegation, led by Li Hongzhong, a Politburo member of the Communist Party.

The letter conveyed China’s steadfast commitment to its relationship with North Korea, emphasizing the Chinese Communist Party and the government’s enduring policy to safeguard, strengthen, and develop bilateral relations.

Xinhua, China’s official news agency, reported on the meeting and reiterated China’s unwavering support for its neighboring ally, North Korea, irrespective of changes in the global geopolitical landscape.

While the contents of President Xi Jinping’s letter have not been fully disclosed to the public, it highlighted the profound bond between the two communist nations, forged through the shared sacrifice and loss experienced during the Korean War.

Pyongyang Hosts State Visitors Beyond Chinese Delegation

Xi Jinping acknowledged the “comradeship written with blood” between China and North Korea, underlining the deep historical ties that continue to shape their relationship.

In addition to the Chinese delegation’s visit, Pyongyang received other state visitors during this eventful week.

A bilateral meeting between the defense ministers of Russia and North Korea took place in the capital city.

Shoigu highlighted the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) as a significant ally of Russia, with a long history of mutually beneficial relations and a shared border.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation, and the meeting underscored the importance of the relationship between Russia and North Korea in the broader regional context.
