Does Pizza Hut Accept Snap/ebt/food Stamps Payments?| Viral News!

It was in 1958 that two brothers borrowed $600 from their mother to build a pizza business in Wichita, Kansas, which became known as Pizza Hut.

In today’s world, it is one of the most famous companies on the planet, with more than 16,000 outlets in more than 100 countries.

However, only a small percentage of those establishments will allow you to use your Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program EBT card to complete a purchase.

As reported on the First Quarter Finance website, Pizza Hut, owned by Yum Brands, is accepting EBT card payments at select locations in California as part of the state’s CalFresh Restaurant Meals program, which is administered by the state’s Department of Food and Agriculture (DFA).

California counties participating in the initiative include Alameda, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz, according to the Foundation for Quality Food (FQF).

According to the United States Department of Agriculture’s website, the SNAP Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) allows qualified SNAP beneficiaries to purchase food at SNAP-authorized restaurants using their EBT cards.

Restaurants that participate in the program must offer meals at a discounted rate. A portion of the program’s benefits include the ability to purchase food at the deli areas of participating grocery stores.

One of the goals is to make it easier for SNAP beneficiaries to receive hot cooked foods at restaurants, which is something many of them are unable to get at grocery shops.

Consumers used to pay with food stamps, but now they pay using EBT debit cards that can be reloaded. Although the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is overseen by the United States Department of Agriculture, the programme itself is administered at the state level.

The RMP requires that a restaurant be located in a state that participates in the programme, obtain approval from the state and submit a written agreement to the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), and be approved to collect SNAP benefits by the FNS in order to be eligible to participate.

As previously reported by GOBankingRates, seven states have chosen to participate in the RMP. It is generally available in Arizona and California, but the programme is only available in select cities or counties in five other states:

Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Rhode Island, and Virginia. It is largely available in Arizona and California, and it is widely available in California.
South Dakota recently passed a bill that will allow residents to use their food-assistance payments to purchase cooked meals, while New York recently enacted a law that will allow state social services agencies to qualify for federal funding through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Other than California, no other states have been mentioned as taking EBT payments at Pizza Hut, but you may always check with your local Pizza Hut or SNAP benefits agency to be sure.
