Snap: Michigan Bridge Card Benefits Will Start to Go Out on April 3| Latest Updates

Michigan Bridge Card Benefits

Food assistance benefits in Michigan are handled by the state’s Food Assistance Program, which is part of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (FAP).

Benefits under the FAP are funded by the federal government, while administrative costs are split by the state and the federal governments.

FAP payments give temporary food assistance to low-income families and individuals who meet the eligibility requirements.

FAP rewards are put onto an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card on a monthly basis unless otherwise specified. Additionally, the state of Michigan refers to its EBT card as “The Michigan Bridge Card.”

Benefits may be used to purchase qualified food goods from Food and Nutrition Service-authorized retail food stores or meal providers that are in good standing with the federal government.

Foods or beverages intended for human consumption are eligible, with the exception of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and hot foods or food that is ready for immediate consumption.

Benefits from the Food Assistance Program (FAP) can also be utilized to purchase seeds and plants for use in gardens in order to generate food.

The USDA has increased the number of SNAP payments available in an emergency situation. On their Michigan Bridge Card, households will immediately receive their EA SNAP benefits in addition to their regular benefits.

Until April 2022, you will be able to make your payments.

Each month, Michigan Bridge Cards are reloaded, with the final digit of the recipient’s ID number determining how often they are loaded. Paid out between the third and twentieth of each month, according to the timetable outlined below.
