Social Security Payment Schedule 2022: Important Dates!

In the coming year, Social Security benefits will be a little bit larger — by a total of 5.9 percent more — as a result of the greatest cost-of-living adjustment increase in more than four decades.

A combination of rising inflation and unrelenting supply chain constraints compelled Congress to mandate that the Social Security Administration increase payouts for seniors by an average of almost $100 per month.

Each month, you can anticipate receiving your payments at the following times:

• If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, the second Wednesday of each month is your day.
• If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, the third Wednesday of each month is your day.
• If your birthday falls between the dates of January 21st and December 31st, the fourth Wednesday of each month is your birthday.

Payments begin in January 2022

• The second Wednesday of the month is January 12.
• The third Wednesday of the month is January 19th.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is January 26.

Payments will be made in February 2022

• The second Wednesday of the month is February 9th.
• The third Wednesday of the month is February 16th.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is February 23.

Payments due in March 2022

• The second Wednesday in March is March 9.
• The third Wednesday of the month is March 16th.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is March 23.

Payments due in April 2022

• The second Wednesday in April is April 13th.
• The twentieth of April is the third Wednesday of the month.
• The fourth Wednesday of April is April 27.

Payments due in May 2022

• Wednesday, May 11th is the second Wednesday of the month.
• Wednesday, May 18th is the third Wednesday of the month.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is May 25.

Payments due in June 2022

• The second Wednesday in June is June 8th.
• The third Wednesday of June is June 15th.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is June 22nd.

Payments will be made in July 2022

• Wednesday, July 13th is the second Wednesday of the month.
• The twentieth of July is the third Wednesday of the month.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is July 27.

Payments will be made in August 2022

• The second Wednesday in August is August 10th.
• The third Wednesday of August is August 17th.
• Wednesday, August 24, is the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Payments will be made in September 2022

• The second Wednesday of September is September 14.
• The third Wednesday of September is September 21.
• The 28th of September is the fourth Wednesday.

Payments will be made in October 2022

• The second Wednesday in October is October 12th.
• The third Wednesday of the month is October 19th.
• The fourth Wednesday of October is October 26.

Payments will be made in November 2022

• The second Wednesday in November is November 9th.
• Wednesday, November 16, is the third Wednesday of the month.
• Wednesday, November 23, is the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Payments due in December 2022

• The 14th of December is the second Wednesday of the month.
• The third Wednesday in December is December 21.
• The fourth Wednesday of the month is December 28.

The increase took effect on January 1 for Social Security beneficiaries and on December 30 for Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries.
