The deadline to apply for a new $1,400 stimulus check is this month.

Residents may be eligible for the one-time payment if they match the eligibility requirements.

The stimulus lottery in Johnson County, Iowa is funded by Joe Biden’s $3.5 million American Rescue Plan.

The Direct Assistance Program of the county assists qualifying low-to-moderate-income residents who have been financially impacted by Covid.

Those who match the qualifications can apply right now. Residents must submit their applications and any supporting papers through the online portal.

The County is holding in-person clinics to assist with application submission. The first will take place on May 5th, while the second will take place on May 13th.

Both events will take place from 12 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building, Room 203B/C.

Residents are advised to use the website to make clinic appointments. Those without an appointment are welcome, however, they may be required to wait.

There is a limit of one application per qualifying resident.
